True Humility

"...to walk humbly with thy God" (Micah 6:8)

Here God is speaking to Israel. 'To walk humbly with thy God.' What kind of humility does God want? There is a humility that comes from a broken and contrite heart and that will be true humility. There is another humility that comes from the natural mind but that will be hypocritical. "Shall I count them pure with wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?" (Micah 6:11). Some of these people were humble but they had deceitful balances in their homes. God hates false measures. There is no use of our professing religion with false money in our houses. In our confessions, He wants us to be complete and in our humbling, He wants the humbling of a broken spirit.

A Christian lives in open daylight, with no hidden secret in him. We need to see that our hearts are really pure. Is your heart right with God? "Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness" (Psalm 143:10). We must be completely upright. "Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee" (Psalm 143:8). Let the Word of God live and talk with you. The Word will come to life when the Spirit of God is in the heart.

The Word of God begins to talk. The Spirit of God reproduces the voice of God in the Word. The Spirit of God will lead you into the land of uprightness.

When you confess all your sins you will be led into the land of uprightness.
