The Height of Christian Life

"...I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: ..." (Philippians 3:8)

A Christian should rise higher and higher. A mountain should look at the stars and wish to rise as high as them. Here is a man who had a real vision. What are the higher stages of holiness? You may be pure in action. But you must be pure in thought. You must become pure in your imagination. What heights there are in Christian life that are to be reached! We must be more grateful and meek before men, humble before God and like Jesus Christ.

What need there is in the work of the Kingdom of God! Do not be satisfied. Do not be tired with just your work. Do something for God. Look up to God for strength. Learn to work hard. God will give you strength. Do not look back, but look forward. "... but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13,14).

God has stored in you great potentialities. He will bring them out and use you. Do not limit yourself. Do something for God every day. Look at yourself and see yourself as God sees you. If somebody has said something against you, do not think of it. Go forward. A man who runs the 100 yards race, does not look back or he will lose the race. Do not think of what people say. Do not think of your weaknesses. Go forward.
