Peace of God

"And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"  (Romans 10:15)

'How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace.'  Deep down in the heart of man there is a hunger for peace.  We are made for Heaven and not for this earth.  Man's frame (spiritual and intellectual) is so made that he will be happy when one has the deep peace of God.

Man is unhappy, because of conflicting desires, which undermine his spiritual and intellectual capacities.  Man, by not knowing God, has divided himself.  When he grows and settles down in his ideas, he finds himself in an unstable equilibrium, ready to topple over and so he lives in great fear.

'How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace.'  To the conflicting, divided inner personality in man, the news that there is a harmonizing force which will eliminate conflicting elements, is a great boon.  To know that there is peace is a great joy.

"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?" (James 4:1).  There is war in the human personality.  When you do not harmonize your inner longings according to the mighty will of God in your youth, you will seek things that will cause greater conflicts and greater cleavage in your personality.

But there is good news for such people.  Only those who have conquered, can bring this news.  Have you brought your inner self into the peace that passeth all understanding?  Do you know what broke the body of Jesus?  It was the conflict within us.  When one has suffered in your stead, why do you still bear the wounds and suffer conflict?  Take this good news to your town.

There is finality in the call of Jesus.  'Come unto Me, all ye that are in conflict, and I will give you rest.'  The best time to get this peace is as a student and when one is single.  "How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things," who themselves have conquered and now bring the news.
