Living in the Spirit

"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." (Isaiah 30:21)

There comes a time when a Christian is humbly obeying the Word and the Holy Spirit never leaves Him. This was happening to St. Paul. Children of God need not fear about guidance. If you obey the truth you know God will guide you. "After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not" (Acts 16:7). The Spirit of God did not allow them to go out of God's will. They had no peace till they obeyed God. Do not be hasty. Pray till you have peace in your heart. Satan wants to hasten you and cause you to err. As Paul was praying a man of Macedonia called him for help. Paul recognized him to be a man of Macedonia by his dress. Paul and his companions started for Europe. "Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses" (Joshua 1:3). Now Paul was going to set foot in Europe. Four men with pure hearts and clean consciences whose lives were ruled by God entered a land where they knew nobody. They came to Philippi. There was no synagogue there. So they met on a river bank. The first convert was a woman named Lydia and the second was a girl who was devil possessed. St. Paul got into trouble because of this girl and was jailed. The next convert was the jailer. God gave them these three converts. When you walk in the Spirit, you will not waste time or energy. Whomever God gives you will be the best. Among the converts for the battle in Europe the ratio of women to men was two to one. That was the way God gave the increase. Let us obey the Lord and live in the spirit.
