Psalms 84:4,10

Verse 10, "I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." This is the humble desire of the Psalmist. Why is it more worthwhile and remunerative? In various parts of the world, people used to go away into the forest not minding the difficulties and hardships in search of peace. They wanted to be in an atmosphere where they could meet God. In Bible times they thought God was in Zion. It is a secure place where the temple was built. It was the place where an angel appeared to David and also where God spoke to him. It was the land offered by Araunah to David. The men of Israel were asked to appear in Zion three times in a year. They had to walk the distance which was undulatory with hills and valleys. Verse 4 & 7, "Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee.", "They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God." When we walk into the presence of God, there is a hallowing atmosphere around us. The rays of the sun have healing properties. Some diseases are healed by exposure to these rays. We know that exposure to cool fresh air heals and refreshes the body. When we walk into the presence of God we get the cool breeze of heaven. What– Breeze? It is the living creative thoughts of God which correct us. Man’s thoughts are poisonous thoughts against God and his neighbour. A parent who does not speak the word of God and breathe the thoughts of God is a danger. God wants to change men to emit thoughts which will build the character or faith of those around. We are creating something creative or destructive all the time. Blessed is the man who walks into the presence of God where he gets the waves of God’s emotions and the currents of God’s thoughts. When Jesus walked on the earth, he always spoke and worked out the thoughts of God. God’s thoughts will always direct you correctly and correct your wrong ideas. The idea of going to Zion was to get this breeze of heaven. The idea of going to church is to get the cool breeze of heaven into the windows of your heart and to get it washed by the thought waves that are flowing from the throne of God. Psalm 139:17, "How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!"

Napoleon was defeated by a man who gave him wrong information regarding the nature of the battle field. He had no time to do the usual inspection. That finished him. One wrong thought or counsel is enough to destroy you. David says, "How beautiful are thy thoughts." Psalm 119:103, "How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" We must learn to hate every false way. The word of God makes us hate every false way. It is better to be a doorkeeper in the house of God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Though poor, you will be enriched by the thoughts of God. Do you walk into Zion every morning? Is the word of God burning away every false thought in you? Is it burning away cancer growths in your spiritual life? Vibratory therapy is used to cure cancer. Vibratory thoughts from the Throne destroy cancerous growths in the human soul. If not now, at least when you are old you will wish to start life afresh if it were possible, but this time in the cool breezes of the presence of God. Proverbs 8:34, "Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors."
