Psalm 139

When we are tired, our innermost thoughts come out. The deep thoughts that guide our life come out. Sometimes these hidden and subtle thoughts become the guiding principles of our life. Then we are like a man in a boat which is caught in a current and is led away by the current. A man's thoughts may carry him anywhere. If they are God's thoughts they will lead you aright. We should not allow any thought that is not entirely of God to dwell in our subconscious. The Word of God has the power to search our thoughts. Your whole life depends on the thoughts which you are entertaining.

Recently a batch of college girls were bathing in a river. Suddenly a current swept away some of them and they were drowned. Thoughts are like that. Even one thought which is not of God should not be lodged in your heart. Some selfish thoughts or thoughts of jealousy come in and lodge within us. We may accept them without scrutinizing their import. We must be careful. It is good to express our thoughts before children of God. The devil knows how to put his hook into us. Every man is a bundle of thoughts. If they are the thoughts of God, they will be driven aright. Every true saint is one who subjected himself to the thoughts of God.

Psalm 143:10 "Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness." We receive the Spirit of God when we are born again. St. Paul did not allow the Spirit of God to flutter and wane and become ineffective in His life. He went away alone and let the Spirit of God and the thoughts of God dwell in him. As soon as one is born again one should give all the time he can give, to meditation on the Word of God, so that all wrong thoughts are removed from him.

When I correct anyone, it is only with the desire that they should be the best that the Spirit of God could make them. I have no desire that they should be my disciples. So many thoughts are in us which have come into us from our families and relatives. They are not of God. God alone will lead us in the way everlasting.

You are the servant of the most high God. You must not give promises to others without asking God's will. Proverbs 6:3 "Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend." For each one of you God has a path and a goal. Let us be humble and not deviate from God. Luther had difficult situations to pass through. Death seemed to hang over his head but he never departed from the thoughts of God. If we are led by the thoughts of God, all the devils may attack us but we will never fail. Isaiah 52: 12 "For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward." God will be before you and behind you. God's thoughts establish faith.

In the belly of the fish Jonah repented. You may come within an inch of death but even there God will protect you. God has a purpose for you. Let it not be defeated. How many have allowed themselves to drift away in wrong currents. King Saul perished by deliberately entertaining ungodly thoughts. Let us put ourselves in the hands of God. Let our prayer times be real. God will lift you and purify you and make you fulfill His purpose.
