Matthew 7:1-29

"Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (v. 21)

Christianity in its finality reduces to doing the will of God. You cannot lightly bypass the Word of God. There is so much disparity between our profession and life. Sometimes prayer becomes a practice and an imitation of others. We learn phrases and use them. The Christian church is full of them. We call Him "Lord, Lord." "Lord," means absolute master. When He is our absolute master all the privileges of the kingdom of God become ours. If in your words, actions and relationships you cannot turn to the right hand or to the left hand without His will, all the privileges of the kingdom become yours. It is a kingdom of responsibilities and privileges. We have to enter through the narrow way. Repentance brings our mental constitution into a condition to believe and obey God.

One may do miracles and cast out devils in the name of Jesus without making Him Lord. If you make God your absolute master you become an absolute ruler. Moses made God his absolute master and Moses became the absolute ruler. God told Joshua that he should meditate on the Word of God in order to obey it. Nature will recognize those that keep the rules of the kingdom of God.

American citizens have many privileges. You cannot enter that country without producing the necessary papers. A man who wants to enter the kingdom of God has to be in right earnest. If you whole-heartedly put one foot forward, He will make you put the next foot forward. He will carry you in His mercy. He it is that bears you. You will see that. It is not you but Christ who is living in you. You will see that you are not working but Christ is working through you.

Mark 10:19 'Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth." This rich ruler had a false satisfaction that he obeyed all the commandments from his youth. People say easily that they were converted many years ago. This is a privileged life. You are a member of the kingdom of God. Jesus and the Father will come and make their abode with you. Let us enjoy these privileges by absolute obedience. People may abuse you and persecute you, but you should adhere to the Word of God. Then you will find that someone is lifting you to the place of joy and victory and triumph.
